The Admissions Process
We invite you to come to our school for an informational meeting with the director. This is an opportunity for you to tour the classroom, learn about the Trillium Montessori program and philosophy and determine if we are a good match for your family. In order to ensure that we can give you our full attention without frustrating or boring your child, we recommend that children not attend this meeting. Please be advised that all tours are by appointment only.
We ask you to take some time after the parent visit to carefully consider whether Trillium Montessori is the right fit for you as a parent. We want to ensure that our approach to education is in alignment with your parenting style and the goals you have for your child. We will provide you with a gift (free) access to an online course entitled See Your Child the Montessori Way where you can delve into Montessori education and parenting concepts in more detail. Completion of this course is a requirement for enrollment.
Complete the online application form (provided after parent visit) and submit the application processing fee. The fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee a space. You may submit the application before you have completed the See Your Child the Montessori Way online course.
Once the application has been completed, we will schedule a visit with your child at school. During the Child Visit we will play with some toys together and do a very informal observational assessment to determine readiness.
Admissions decisions are based on a variety of factors including the following:
- Developmental readiness of the child
- Parent Commitment: Completion of the See Your Child the Montessori Way online course
- Age and gender balance of the class
- Date of application
If a space is offered, the enrollment contract and deposit will be due within two weeks to hold your space. If space is unavailable, you may choose to be placed in the waiting pool.
